Why do I get a message in the console window: "Error/Status [0x80001033]Error/Status Reporting: Your hardware has detected a serious error. Please quit the application and power cycle the hardware. [Error: DMPort Error] Error/Status [0x8000103"?

This error means the hardware detected 1394 packets that are slightly out of sync with the host.  There is a mechanism in the application that will continuously adjust this sync automatically.  As long as the configuration of the system meets the Avid requirements, these errors are benign and could be ignored and should only be seen when switching from play to capture (or capture to play) and when changing sync.
