This may occur if the Local Media Indexer is not indexing / pointing to the local drives.  This occurs regardless when logged on or off from Interplay.

Forcing a rescan of the local drives would not work, because when the Media Indexer services do not read the msmFMID or msmMMOB files.  To resolve this, add the local storage path to the Local Media Indexer service:

  1. Click Start - Programs - Avid - Interplay Framework - Avid Interplay Service Configuration
  2. Under the Hosts tab, locate the bolded out Host name
  3. Select the triangle symbol to expand its services, and select Avid Interplay Media Indexer
  4. Click Yes
  5. At the bottom, click Configure - this opens the Configure Storage Window
  6. If there is no location path to the local storage (e.g. C:\Avid MediaFiles\, E:\Avid MediaFiles, etc.), add the path by the following:
  7. Select the Media Table - Click Add - Choose Media Files Location - click OK
  8. Click the ... button, burrow to the folder containing the media (e.g. F:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\)
  9. When finished, click Open - then Apply - then OK
  10. A successful path will show the added path with "Normal", under the Media Table.  An unsuccessful path may show "Storage Not Found."  If this happens, verify the exact local storage path again.
  11. *If there are other local drives containing Avid media, leave the Configure Storage Window open and follow steps 6-10 for each local drive.
  12. Click OK to exit the Configure Storage Window
  13. Relaunch Avid

Pending on:

  • if Interplay is not required for log-on
  • if the errors still occur or local media is still offline

Stopping all Interplay Services may bring media back online.  To do this:

  1. Click Start - All Programs - Avid - Interplay Framework - Avid Interplay Workgroup Properties
  2. It should say All Enabled Services are running - click Stop
  3. Now it will say No services are running - click Apply - OK
  4. Launch Avid

To restart the services again, follow steps 1-4 again but click Start instead
