When I open up the Avid Interplay Framework application Health Monitor, my Avid Interplay Media Indexer is Red.  What could be causing this?

This condition could be the result of renaming or deleting shared storage workspaces and not removing the entries in the Avid Interplay Media Indexer's Media Table.  The Media Indexer service is trying to scan and index an unknown workspace, thus the entry would be exhibiting "Storage Not Found" instead of Normal or Scanning.

You can remove or change the incorrect entries by doing the following:

  1. Open the Interplay Framework Application, Avid Interplay Service Configuration.
  2. When the workgroup populates, highlight the Avid Interplay Media Indexer service on the Media Indexer you were getting the Red indicator in the Avid Interplay Health Monitor
  3. After authentication with your Avid Interplay password, click on the "Configure" button at the bottom.
  4. In the Media Table you should see one or more indexed workspaces that are displaying "Storage Not Found".
  5. Either remove or rename each erroneous entry.
  6. To remove, highlight the entry and click "Remove".
  7. To rename, highlight the entry and click "Change".
  8. Type in the correct path and name of the workspace making sure the syntax is correct.

  9. Example: \\ISISname\WorkspaceName\Avid Mediafiles\MXF

  10. Don't forget to use the UNC path at the beginning; "\\"
  11. Click OK and the entry should be added at the bottom of the Media Table and begin indexing by displaying "Scanning"  If not, check your spelling.
  12. This will scan until it indexes the entire workspace and vary in time depending on the amount of media in the workspace.
