What 3rd party applications are compatible with my version of Avid Editing Software?
The following lists version compatibility between Avid editing applications, their versions respectively, and 3rd party software.
Note: The below chart lists 3rd party configurations tested by Avid. Other configurations may work but but are not recommended or supported. 3rd party application updates can be purchased at store.avid.com.

* Avid FX 5.8 does not require a dongle. A serial number is printed on the CD sleeve to authorize the software. Versions 5.7 and below require the FX additional dongle option as a component of the Studio Toolkit package.
** Avid DVD by Sonic 6.0 requires a dongle to be plugged into the system while running the application. If you have deactivated your dongle for software activation in a v3.5/7.5 editor, the dongle will still operate DVD by Sonic.
*** Avid DVD by Sonic 6.1 does not require a dongle. Instead, a serial number is included to activate the software. Please note that this is the only functional difference between v6.0 and v6.1 of Avid DVD by Sonic.
